    Over the millions of people in the world are affected by a life-threatening disease known as diabetes.  Are you a victim of this disease? Well,  I’m going to explain here what is the natural cure for diabetes. But, before jumping on that let me walk you through a little bit information about this disease.

    What is diabetes?

    Our body needs glucose which is get converted into energy by our body cells. For this process, the pancreas generates a hormone called as insulin.

    When the insulin production is affected or our body fails to utilize this hormone for the breakdown of glucose into the energy, it results in the excess amount of glucose or sugar in the blood. This condition results in diabetes.

    What are the types of diabetes?

    Type I: Type I diabetes is also known as juvenile diabetes.  Though anyone can get affected by this type of diabetes, mostly young people or children develop Type I diabetes.

    If you have this type of diabetes then, your pancreatic cells are unable to produce insulin due to the genetic problems or other infection. These people require to take regular insulin injection or use an insulin pump. Unfortunately, it is the only solution for them to control Type I diabetes.

    Type II: Type II diabetes is most common and usually occurs in old adults and people above 40s. If you have Type II diabetes then, your body either does not produce enough insulin or fails to use it.

    Note: If you’re taking any medicines for diabetes under the guidance of your health practitioner, never skip those medicines.

    Fenugreek Seeds

    Fenugreek SeedsFenugreek has excellent medicinal virtues. Its regular use helps to keep the body clean and healthy. Fenugreek seeds are one of the effective remedies to control blood sugar level.

    Soak one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in one cup of water overnight. Drink this water and eat those soaked seeds in the morning on an empty stomach daily.

    Another way is, you can take 2 tablespoons of powdered seeds with milk or broth.

    But be cautious if you’re pregnant while using this remedy. Excess intake of fenugreek may cause premature child-birth.

    Indian Gooseberry

    Indian GooseberryThough Indian gooseberry is bitter in taste, you’ll get astonished by its health numerous health benefits. Being rich in Vitamin C, it is a miracle remedy for controlling diabetes.

    You can take two tablespoons of gooseberry juice with one cup of water daily. It helps to stimulate pancreas and enable it to secrete insulin, thus reducing your blood sugar levels. If you have any eye complications due to diabetes, this juice will help to alleviate it.

    Further, equal quantities of powdered gooseberry, jambul fruit (black plum) and bitter gourd provide a very useful remedy for diabetes. You can take a tablespoon of this mixture once or twice a day. This will also help you to keep your blood sugar level under control.

    Curry Leaves

    You can eat 10 fresh curry leaves every morning daily for 3 months. Their anti-hyperglycemic properties are responsible for controlling blood sugar level.

    First I want to clear that diabetic people’s diet is not different from other people’s diet. If you’re following your health practitioner, they suggest you diet plan based on your needs, the severity of disease and your weight.

    Here I’m going to point out some do’s and don’ts that you should consider while eating anything.

    A big no-no to below foods:

    • Sweet food items such as refined sugar, honey, jam, biscuits, chocolates.
    • Oily food items.
    • Cold drinks, packaged juices, coconut water, ice-cream, cake, pastry.
    • Tomato sauce, coconut, salty food such as pickles.
    • Egg yolk, liver, and heart of animals.
    • White rice or white bread
    • Alcohol
    • Smoking

    Eat these foods but in moderate:

    • Potato or sweet potato
    • Oil
    • One tablespoon of butter or cheese

    Don’t mind eating these foods:

    • Fresh vegetables
    • Cereals
    • Whole grains
    • Chicken soup or vegetable soup
    • Corn
    • Fruits. For diabetic people, Vitamin C is considered as beneficial because it helps to control blood sugar level.  So, include more Vitamin C rich fruits such as kiwi, strawberry, blueberry, oranges in your diet.
    • Salads


    A sedentary lifestyle is one of the main reason that contributes to Type II diabetes. Regular exercising helps to stimulate insulin action. Muscle movements consume more glucose that is sitting idle in your cells. Thus, reducing the blood sugar level. Another benefit of exercise is it’ll help you to lose your extra pounds.

    If you’re not getting enough time to exercise daily then at least try to walk 30 minutes daily.  Also, you can indulge yourself in below activities.

    • Swimming
    • Light jogging
    • Cycling
    • Aerobics
    • Playing sports

    Sitting for a longer period should be avoided at any cost. Perhaps this often results in weight gain and also increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. At the workplace, you can take small breaks every 30 minutes. Taking a walk for a few minutes during the break will relax you. Also, you can make use of stairs instead of going by lift. These are really simple things which you can implement in your daily life that will help you to burn your extra calories.

    Remember,  more muscle movement = more intake of glucose = less blood sugar


    Use any one of the above remedies which suit you best. Also, don’t forget to take your medicines suggested by your doctor. So next time when you go for blood test, you’ll surely get surprised by seeing your lower blood sugar level.
